Perfect Strangers

I’ll admit it – the plot synopsis seemed a little gimmicky before I watched the movie.  A group of old friends attending a dinner party agree to put their cell phones in the middle of the table and read every message or call out loud for the duration of the evening.  As you may expect there were secrets (it would be a pretty dull movie if there weren’t any).  But what transpires after that is really surprising as the movie takes on layers that I did not see coming (both in terms of the secrets and the symbolism).  While there is a bit of final commentary in the final scene the storytelling in the scene before it is really excellent.
