I have to admit to being a little disappointed during the first third of the movie. I (wrongly) assumed that this was going to be another comedy where the daughter would talk down to her father for the whole movie, which is often mistaken for comedy. Thankfully, this movie has layers, and as it went on we started to see how everyone got to where they were at. The story is semi-autobiographical (written by Steve Zahn), and both he and his real-life daughter are excellent in the film (I was blown away by Audrey’s performance). I thought the ending was excellent.
