Overview
Set in an small English town in 1959, the story of a woman who decides, against polite but ruthless local opposition, to open a bookshop, a decision which becomes a political minefield.
If you like films that are subtle and feel like plays (think Doubt, A Late Quartet, Revolutionary Road) then this is the film for you. The three main leads are absolutely extraordinary. It was really nice to Nighy play this kind of role.
