Overview
Loosely based on the true-life tale of Ron Woodroof, a drug-taking, women-loving, homophobic man who in 1986 was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and given thirty days to live.
This picture was a little bit all over the place. First, it seemed like a mashup of Milk and Blow (two superior films) . The film did something which drives me absolutely bonkers : it was a true story that really wasn’t a true story. The lead character is a homophobic male that contracts AIDS and then goes on a quest to try to save his life. The only problem is that in real life most accounts have him as either gay or bisexual. Why couldn’t he be that in the film? The first half was definitely better than the second half.
