The funny thing about me and superhero movies is that I have to pysche myself up to watch them. I’m not quite sure why that is. My guess is that the story tends to suffer at the expense of CGI and I always prefer the former to the latter. Anyway, I thought I would give this a chance because of the 93% favorable ratings at rottentomatoes.com and it stars Robert Downey Jr. Why couldn’t this guy have stayed off of the drugs in his 30’s? I think he might be the best actor of our time. For this genre the story was about as good as any that I have seen. The final battle scene (I’m not giving anything away here – after all, there is ALWAYS a final battle scene) was a bit of a disappointment and you can see a sequel coming but overall the movie was as good as any others in this genre.
