Overview
A quirky rom-com about the tick-tocking relationship between a Filipina girl and a Mennonite boy.
One of the great things about watching independent films is that you never know what you are going to get. They are often a little rough around the edges and can zag when a typical Hollywood movie would zig. In short this movie was very enjoyable. From the opening scenes you feel like you know the characters and that you are about to start a journey with them. The two main characters are by far the best thing about the movie. Not everything in the movie works – the scenes with the secondary characters (particularly the male’s co-worker) are often terrible but thankfully there is far more good than bad here. Ultimately the film is about how difficult it is to make a relationship work and I felt the little zag in the last scene was very well done.
