Overview
Accompanied only by her faithful dog and four camels, an Australian satisfies her craving for solitude by embarking on a solo trip across the desert from Alice Springs to the Indian Ocean.
One wouldn’t think that a movie about a woman who aspires to walk across the Australian desert would be really interesting, but this movie really was enjoyable. Much (or all) of the credit for this goes to Wasikowska as she is perfect for this role and she absolutely hits it out of the park. The film really spoke to my own desire for both solitude and accomplishment like few other films have. I think that if this film weren’t based on a true story that it may have tried to add in more unnecessary conflict or drama – as it was it sat right in the sweet spot for both.
