Overview
In an afterlife where souls have one week to decide where to spend eternity, Joan is faced with the impossible choice between the man she spent her life with and her first love, who died young and has waited decades for her to arrive.
Have we seen different versions of this movie over the years? Yes, of course. We all know that there is going to be a decision at some point. But that doesn’t change the fact that this movie does a fabulous job of laying out a scenario that I don’t think many people have thought about. I am not religious and I have often wondered what people would do in this scenario – in that sense, the choice is really fascinating. Despite the themes being very familiar, the quality of the acting makes this movie better than it might otherwise be.
