In lesser hands, this would have been just another dopey hollywood comedy.  It isn’t, because the movie got two things right.  First, they didn’t make Amy Adams’ character be one-dimensional.   The character has depth, and Adams plays the character beautifully.  I usually hate those kinds of characters, but she really delivered in the role.  The second thing they got right is the casting – Adams and MacDormand are amazing together.  I enjoyed the film much more than I thought I would.
