Overview
When Rick, a past-his-prime wedding singer, meets fading boy-band star Danny during a gig, the two bond over music and a late-night jam session. But when Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into the hit that reignites his career, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves - even if it means risking everything he cares about.
Is this movie likeable? Yes. Enjoyable? Sure. Well-acted? Yes, I would say so. So why only a 6? The music is absolutely terrible. I realize that I am probably in the minority when I say that, but the music felt like it was aimed at teenage girls. One cheeseball hook after another, and we have to try to pretend like there is some emotional moment going on. That said, because it was likeable on other levels, it isn’t the worst movie in the world.
