Hands down the best Christmas movie ever made.  I rarely re-watch a movie but I’ve probably seen this movie thirty times.  During a particularly troubled holiday season this movie kept me company all day long.  It will always have a special place in my heart.  I’ve read through most of the reviews on this site and many are down on the film.  I think people are trying to analyze this movie waaaaaay too much.  Think about it – how many good movies are in this space?  By definition the genre has to be a little schlocky.  There are the films that are considered classics but either nobody really watches (It’s a Wonderful Life) or not nearly as funny as people think they are (Christmas Vacation).  There are a handful of old movies that are fantastic (Shop Around the Corner, Christmas in Connecticut) but those don’t get much mention.  This film is a little absurd but that’s par for the course.
