My review only covers the first 20 minutes of the movies as that is about all I could stomach.  In some ways it seems like Linklater re-made this film as an adult when he created the far superior Everybody Wants Some.  Like “Dazed” that film did not necessarily have a point but it was a far more realistic (and interesting) snapshot of youth.  The main problem I had with this film was that none of it was believable.  Nobody ever talked like that in high school or acted liked that in high school.  Nobody.   At times if felt like a sequel to Meatballs instead of a Linklater film.  You can be not believable but tell an amazing story but you can’t be not believable and also not have a story to tell.

Thankfully we bailed and found time to watch the amazing What They Had.
