Overview
Everything changes for 15-year-old Mia when her mum brings home a new boyfriend.
I’ve seen this movie before. Rather, I’ve seen bits and pieces of this movie many times over. After all, it’s hard to do anything new in the coming-of-age genre. If you threw An Education (fantastic film), Cemetery Junction (underrated Ricky Gervais film) and The Florida Project into a blender you’d have this movie.
This film was like all of those films but it wasn’t any of those films. I felt like I was watching a great drama and not just a coming-of-age film. It really had a great depth to it and it continued to surprise me as it went along. It was on many “best of” lists and I can see why.
