The movie is as good as the hype – this was an amazing story of courage and duty.   I was also blown away but Mel Gibson’s ability to direct a movie – I thought he did a fantastic job.

I often have a hard time watching the “based on a true story” movies because the whole time I am watching them I am wondering how much of it is actually true.  From my limited reading of other people’s research the guts of the story are true.  In fact, his last scene in the war was even more fantastic than what was portrayed in the film (apparently Gibson thought that audiences wouldn’t buy it).  I also found it very interesting that he was in fact pro-war but anti-gun but that’s a conversation for another place.

Finally, this was a fantastic film to see in 4k.
