Overview

The Narrator (Woody Allen) tells us how the radio influenced his childhood in the days before TV. In the New York City of the late 1930s to the New Year's Eve 1944, this coming-of-age tale mixes the narrator's experiences with contemporary anecdotes and urban legends of the radio stars.

This was a fairly interesting nostalgic movie by Woody Allen. Allen is the writer, director and narrator of this film and you get a great sense of the warm memories that he has of his childhood. In a way it reminded me of Jean Shepard’s A Christmas Story. However, the movie really dragged at times. I feel terrible saying that because the film had real potential. I wonder if I had grown up in that era if I would feel differently.
