Overview
Los Angeles television producer Maggie Baker unwittingly falls for Danny Wise, the son and former producer of his mother’s popular annual Christmas special Julia Wise Lifestyle. When Maggie’s secret plan to reunite Danny and his two brothers with Julia during the live broadcast in Vermont goes awry, Maggie is reminded that above all, it is the love for family and friends that makes the merriest of Christmas.
So my wife and I watch a Christmas movies every Christmas Eve. We try to seek out something that is a little mushy but still well-done without being too Hallmark-ish. In recent years we watched 12 Dates of Christmas and A Christmas in Vermont – those films were exactly what we were looking for. On the advice of a friend’s wife we gave this one a go. Yikes. The only redeeming quality was that by the end of the film we had essentially turned it into a Mystery Science Theater session. Sorry to upset the Hallmark crowd – I should probably shy away from this sub-genre.
