Overview
Set over three days, two different couples – each comprising a teacher and a student – spend a life-changing weekend at the seaside resort town of Scarborough to seek an escape from the constraints of every day life.
I have to admit, this film snuck up on me a bit. I didn’t take it too seriously at the beginning, but as it went on, some really fascinating themes emerged. I thought it did a great job addressing the difference in how people of different ages look at love and relationships. I thought the event towards the end of the film forces the audience to look at what they had already seen in a different light – I always appreciate this in a film. The film ultimately had a fresh take on relationships and how we approach them as we age.
