The film is unique in that it features two themes:  Are there such things as thought crimes, and how far do we go to give someone another chance.   I think the former was more interesting.  After all, we all have bad urges.  If you have a bad urge and you don’t go through with that, isn’t that a good thing?  Isn’t it good that you caught yourself?  If not, at what point does it go from a fleeting thought (which is presumably not as bad) to a more developed thought, and how much worse is that thought?   While the question itself is interesting, I know my personal answer and this resulted in me having a somewhat difficult time with much of the rest of the film.   The performances are great – Pattinson and Zendaya are fantastic.
