Overview
A down-on-his-luck crab fisherman embarks on a journey to get a young man with Down syndrome to a professional wrestling school in rural North Carolina and away from the retirement home where he’s lived for the past two and a half years.
This is the rare movie that hits all of the right spots without saturating any of those spots. It is at different turns funny, heartwarming and dramatic. One of the leads in the film has Downs syndrome – it is so common for movies like this to use such a character as a prop. That wasn’t the case in this film.
One of the more underrated qualities of the film is how it deals with good vs. evil. There are no heroes or villains – we are all just people who are capable of acting good or bad on any given day.
