This film is fantastic on so many different levels.  The acting and story are absolutely superb.  But what really struck me about this film is how difficult it must have been to tell this story without it coming across as an after-school special or Lifetime movie.   I’ve seen countless other films with a serious subject matter done half as well as this movie.  It is mind-boggling that the director is also the one that experienced these events and somehow was still able to tell the events in a way that was both creative and fresh.   Amazing.
