Overview

Fictional documentary about the life of human chameleon Leonard Zelig, a man who becomes a celebrity in the 1920s due to his ability to look and act like whoever is around him. Clever editing places Zelig in real newsreel footage of Woodrow Wilson, Babe Ruth, and others.

The concept was simple – the movie was a 20’s-style black-and-white film about a man that morphs into whoever he was with. Had it been a 15 minute short it might have worked. As it was, it was an 84 minute film that played like it was 180 minutes long. There were some funny moments but overall it just didn’t work for me.
