I have long had a theory that when making a road trip movie a few things are given to you right out of the box.  For example, there are only two characters in the movie so you really don’t need a ton of conflict or conversation.  And in this move you don’t get much of either.  Two characters are brought together and don’t seem to have much chemistry or attraction.  They are both broken and desperate and apparently that’s enough.  On the plus side, it’s a beautiful movie to look at.
