Overview
Sparks fly when self-sufficient single mother Abigail meets magnetic perennial bachelor Ben. On their first date, they collaborate -- in jest -- on the ultimate list: 10 things to do together before they break up. But when fate intervenes, they soon embark on the most challenging journey of all -- building a family together, and the chance to trade their cynicism for hope.
It was an odd decision to try to package this movie as a rom-com when it clearly is not. It is a drama that has a few amusing scenes between the leads, who are both very good. While I was generally engaged with the movie, I noticed that I started to check my watch as we got to the middle of the movie. The runtime is only about 80 minutes, but the movie felt much longer. I think they nailed the final act but it started to become a bit of a slog before we got there.
