200 Cigarettes

Every now and then I’ll give a movie with a good cast yet poor reviews a look while on the treadmill.  As you may have guessed, this was such a movie.  Roger Ebert said that actors are essentially vessels waiting to be filled by a good screenplay.  This movie offered the actors little in the way of material and the result is a pretty empty movie (Gabby Hoffman should have fired her agent after she wrapped this movie).  The movie is essentially a series of empty scenes that are sloppily tied together at the end of the movie by a Chapelle monolog.  Oh, so that’s what this mess was about – I am glad he told me.
