For much of the film I was content to be watching a family christmas film that greatly (ahem) borrowed from my favorite movie (A Christmas Story). Sure, they updated it in several areas and changed a few things around but the main parts of the story were taken right out of the original. I was about to write this one off as another mediocre Christmas movie re-make (I am looking at you, Home Sweet Home Alone) when all of the sudden it no longer was like the original. If you’re looking for a Christmas movie to watch with the family you could do worse than this movie. My kids actually clapped when it ended and that never happens.
