Make no mistake about it – whatever good qualities this movie has is due completely to Amanda Peete.  Sure, Ashton Kutcher plays a perfect nerd – he is that nerd throughout the movie.  It is the changes in Peete’s character that give this movie even one iota of worth.  I think this movie could have been better if they did a better job delineating the instances when they were going to leave each other again.  We’ve seen all of this done much better in When Harry Met Sally, of course.
