This movie tries to use scenery and special effects to tell a heartwarming father-son story.  For what it is trying to do, the movie is…. fine.  It just needed to be something more.  I can think of other movies that tried the same (The Fall comes to mind) that had the same goals and ended up with a much better movie.  It really was a waste of a stellar cast.
