Overview
When an uncle is charged with murder, the event reverberates throughout a poor Arkansas family, including a struggling musician and his wife, her mother, her sister, and his father.
Part of the problem with having a movie that centers around insecurities in a relationship and family disfunction is that the movie has to walk a line between putting the conflict on display and becoming annoying. Unfortunately this movie walked all over that line. Much of the story centered around how the two leads were insecure about the other’s dating past and the film never quite figured out how to put that on display. So it seemed to take the cheap way out – the characters would just bring it up in conversation regardless of the circumstance. Anyway, the film is decent but given the quality of the cast it should have been so much more.
