Overview
A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life with his days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. But when his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctant Wolverine.
For better or worse, the movie is exactly what you would expect it to be. Reynolds continues to annihilate the fourth wall, and Jackman brings a breath of fresh air to the project. The middle of the movie drags a bit (I think they could have shaved off 10 or 15 minutes), but I think the ending makes up for it. I do wonder what the future of the franchise holds – these movies run the risk of being formulaic and repetitive. Bringing in Jackman temporarily alleviated some of that concern, but it is something to keep an eye on.
