Overview
When Patrizia Reggiani, an outsider from humble beginnings, marries into the Gucci family, her unbridled ambition begins to unravel the family legacy and triggers a reckless spiral of betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately…murder.
My first question is, who thought this story needed to be told? And who thought it needed to be told in 2 hours and 37 minutes?
The acting here is fine. Everyone puts on their best fancy clothes and fake accents. Lady Gaga does an admirable job bringing intensity to an otherwise empty storyline. I still can’t believe that she thought that she might win an award for this role – there just isn’t enough there. I rarely say that a movie is boring but this one is an exception. It very much felt like a Lifetime movie that you might see on a saturday afternoon. This may have played better as a docuseries rather than a movie.
