Overview
After a quick courtship, two lovers hastily decide to tie the knot. As their first year of marriage unfolds, temptation and incompatibility put their relationship in jeopardy.
At different times this movie reminded me of ten other rom coms that I’ve seen. Unfortunately all ten were EASILY better than this movie. This movie has issues all over the place. First, the two male leads are awful. The one has no personality and the other is doing a poor imitation of Robert Redford (it turns out that you can’t fake real charm or acting ability, even if you look the part). But the worst part about this movie (and it isn’t close) is Stephen Merchant. I’ve enjoyed his work for many years but they made him a clown in this movie (is there any easier scene to write than a best man speech in a rom com? It was brutal). You can see where the movie is going but when it gets there it just doesn’t feel believable. This was a seriously mediocre movie.
