International Falls

This film checked a lot of the boxes for elements that I like in my indie films.  The film takes please in a remote area and there are few characters.  It doesn’t take long to get into the meat of the conflict and we don’t waste time on back story.  The film takes place over the course of a few days and the resolution isn’t necessarily clean or happy.  The film is both written and cast well.  As someone who appreciates the technical elements of standup comedy I really appreciated the conversations about the nature of standup.  If you don’t have a voice you can’t be a good standup.  The last scene of the movie is proof of this.
