Jon Stewart did a masterful job of showing how broken the US political system is.  In fact, he might have too good of a job – the scenes where truth does not matter eerily reflect the current political climate.  That said…. it is not a great movie.  It is neither dramatic nor funny, and the slow pacing of the movie  makes it an even tough movie to get through.  I did see some reviews that thought that Stewart was condescending towards the people of Deerlaken.  I didn’t get that at all as I thought that he painted them in a sympathetic light for much of the movie before completely changing their story later on.  He was clearly taking shots at the operatives on both the left and the right.
