Overview
An LA girl, unlucky in love, falls for an East Coast guy on a dating app and decides to surprise him for Christmas, only to discover that she's been catfished. But the object of her affection actually lives in the same town, and the guy who duped her offers to set them up if she pretends to be his own girlfriend for the holidays.
This movie is probably everything that you thought it would be and hoped it would be given the genre. Is the movie full of cliches and often predictable? You bet. But the movie often uses these cliches to its advantage (see the title of the movie) and has enough heart to make it worthwhile. When you put the movie in the context of the genre (the beaten-to-death holiday rom-coms) this movie holds up very well.
