One of the many many reasons that I love indie movies is that they don’t bear that weight of a traditional Hollywood movie.  The viewer is not treated like a child in that they need the whole back story.  The film begins with a few uneventful scenes and slowly a story starts to evolve.  The film is about growing up, crossing cultures and finding your place in the world.  The film does not really stand out in any way (other than seeing shades of my 19 year old self in the male lead)  but it was a worthwhile 90 minutes.
