Overview
When a substance abuse counsellor gets arrested for a DUI and returns to her hometown of Niagara Falls, she learns that her estranged father is dying of cancer and wants her to form a bond with her teenage half-sister that she's never met.
This was on my radar because I am a big fan of Aya Cash (You’re the Worst was an aweseome tv show) and it was filmed minutes from where I lived. At first I feared that maybe the role was a little too similar to her role on that show but as the film went on her character had the chance to move into new areas. The film also did the same – in the third act it really reached new highs. Sure, we’ve seen this film lots of times in the past but rarely is it done this well.
