Overview
A Baltimore sandwich shop employee becomes an overnight sensation when photographs he's taken of his weird family become the latest rage in the art world. The young man is called "Pecker" because he pecks at his food like a bird.
It was difficult to get a handle on this movie. First, the main theme (the problem with capturing people on film and thus possibly intruding in their personal space) does not become apparent until at least halfway through the movie. Before that time I was wondering how I should be watching it. The script was so poor and some of the secondary actors were so bad that for a while I thought it was a farce. But it couldn’t be a farce because – while it was bad – it wasn’t that bad. And poor Christina Ricci – her character spent the entire movie sulking. They could have at least thrown us a bone by having little Chrissie struck down by a garbage truck.
