Overview
A young woman who has been in and out from rehab for the past 10 years returns home for the weekend for her sister's wedding.
Part of the problem that I had with this film was my own shortcoming. To put it simply, it took me a while to figure out how to watch this movie. The viewer is essentially dropped in to the middle of a wedding that is about to happen. I mean literally dropped in – you feel like you are on the fringe of every interaction on the weekend. It’s an interesting idea and at times it works but at other times you feel like you’re watching it in real time. The rehearsal dinner was particularly painful as it seemed to go on for twenty minutes. I don’t get why several reviews said Anne Hathaway should get Oscar buzz – she was perfectly fine but this role was not memorable.
