Overview
Summer of 1963. Carson is getting married to her boyfriend so her friends Melaina, Pudge and Luanne take her to Myrtle Beach for one last irresponsible weekend.
This movie is about four friends that sneak off to Myrtle Beach for a weekend before their lives change in the fall. Both the girls and the country are on the edge of change: the girls are going to be forced to the next stage of their lives, and the country is on the edge of social and political turmoil. But never mind all of that, there is a weekend to be had. For what it is trying to be, the movie nails it. As you can probably guess, the weekend is eventful. Despite the fact that the girls will never be the same after the weekend, at no point does the movie lose sight of its playfulness or the comradery that the girls share.
