Overview
When a young girl’s sketchbook falls into a strange pond, her drawings come to life—chaotic, real, and on the loose. As the town descends into chaos, her family must reunite and stop the monsters they never meant to unleash.
The beauty in this film is that it doesn’t pander to the audience. The film is a touch creepier than you would expect from a kids movie, but with a little patience, you will see that it isn’t creepy at all (or at least not too creepy that your kids can’t enjoy it). It is really unique in the family movie genre in that it really had themes that can be appreciate by both kids and adults. And finally, the female lead is astounding. This girl is going to be a force to be reckoned with when she grows up. I really enjoyed the film more than I thought I would, and so did the rest of the family.
