Overview
Handsome, unflappable U.S. Congressman Stephen Collins is the future of his political party: an honorable appointee who serves as the chairman of a committee overseeing defense spending. All eyes are upon the rising star to be his party's contender for the upcoming presidential race. Until his research assistant/mistress is brutally murdered and buried secrets come tumbling out.
About half way through this movie I thought I had it figured out. I thought that it was going to be your standard “here is the director’s political statement disguised as a thriller”. I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be more than that. The film had several interesting themes, among them how we are all both good and evil. Without giving too much away, I really found the dance between the different factions in the movie to be the most interesting part of the film. The director did a great job of painting the symbiotic relationship between the various groups.
