Overview
United States, 1926: Dutch 24-year-old Willy Wolters has immigrated to the American continent with her parents as a child. She dreams of becoming a conductor, but this is an ambition that no one takes seriously. Unbeknownst to her, she'll also become Antonia Brico.
There were hardly any reviews on this movie other than it was a decent watch on a rainy day. I could see how people might think that, but I think they missed the beauty of the movie. This movie is about the spirit of a woman fighting against all odds, and the lead is amazing in that role. I laughed, I cried, and I was fully invested throughout the whole movie. The run time is rather long, but I think that adds to the feel of an epic that this movie has, not unlike Cold War. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
