The Grand Seduction

This is a film about the residents of an island who are trying to improve their collective lot in life after years of neglect.  While this film felt like several other films (primarily The Truman Show) it feels like something different than those movies.  At no point did it either make light of the central figure nor did it spend too much time in plot setup.   What really carried this film was the heart of the resident of the island and their spirit to improve their lot in life.  I really enjoyed the film.
