Overview
An odd-but-gifted poet, Evan Merck makes his living writing suicide notes for the soon-to-be departed. So when he meets Charlotte, the free-spirited sister of his latest client, Evan has no choice but to lie about his relationship to her late, lamented brother.
The premise is simple: a struggling writer has a side hustle where he writes the obituaries for people that are near death (or wish to die). As you might expect, this premise opens the door for several philosophical questions that are addressed towards the end of the movie. It is a fairly simple film that works best when the two leads are on screen together. The movie’s ending nudged my rating up just a bit.
