Overview
A quiet, neglected girl is sent away from her dysfunctional family to live with relatives for the summer. She blossoms in their care, but in this house where there are meant to be no secrets, she discovers one.
This is a quiet film about (mostly) quiet people. The film does a fantastic job demonstrating how delicate it can be to be a child, and also how the same can be said of the process of raising a child. The film is extremely so and thus I can’t imagine that it is going to be for everyone. I think the film did a fantastic job of leaving out details that didn’t matter and only revealing (eventually) what was important to the story. The ending was a bit unexpected and extremely powerful.
