The Souvenir

I liked that the film didn’t spend a lot of time setting the backdrop.  In the opening sequence you get a feel for many of the main characters through their party conversations (or lack thereof).  I thought it was really interesting and in some ways inspiring how the (fantastic) female lead kept trying to drag her love interest over the proverbial finish line.  Again, very few conversations about their struggle.  Her quiet and strong spirit really carried the movie and that alone made the film worthwhile.
