At first I thought that my review of this movie would be pretty cut-and-dried – the two leads have fantastic chemistry and you can see the end coming from a mile away but you enjoy the journey anyway.  I happened to stumble upon Ebert’s review of this movie and he really gave me a few things to think about.  He pointed out that this movie was made during a time when there were outrageous movies about teens being far too confident in their sexuality and that this movie shows teens as they would be in real life (even if the scenes of the college parties are ridiculous).  And what was up  with Nicolette Sheridan’s character?  They treated her like a pet.
