This film is a short that was converted into a full-length film. The beginning of the film is actually the short and it is really really well done. The lead gives a fantastic one-take performance that goes on for several minutes. During his eulogy he is shown to be caring, confused, lonely and fragile. It really felt like there was a start to a good film and I was all in. And then…. he is just kind of shifted from scene to scene being the same character. I can see why the movie got decent reviews – it is equal parts quirky ,funny and moving. But I think there is a difference – there can be a good movie that is quirky and funny and then there can be a movie that is quirky and funny trying desperately to be a good film. The end of the film is decent but I was really looking at my watch towards the middle. The acting was good but it felt like the film was somewhat amateurish.
