Overview
Julie, a girl from the valley, meets Randy, a punk from the city. They are from different worlds and find love. Somehow they need to stay together in spite of her trendy, shallow friends.
I am a child of the 80s. While I still regularly listen to 80s music, the same can’t be said for 80s movies. Sure, it is fun to look back on the era to see what things looked like (or how Hollywood tells us they look), but for the most part the movies are crap. And that brings us to this movie…. I can’t remember the last time that I saw a movie that was this…. unnecessary? Maybe it would have meant more if I understood the difference between Hollywood and the Valley, but I do not. There have been hundreds of movies about people from different sides of the track having a relationship (side note: the description says that Cage’s character is a “punk”, which is hilarious). I’d be willing to be that most are better than this movie.
