Overview
An up-and-coming chef and a recent divorcée find their lives forever changed when a chance encounter brings them together, in a decade-spanning, deeply moving romance.
I wanted to like this movie so much more than I did. While I adore the two leads, the two different timelines felt rather gimmicky in this movie, as if to stir up more pulls at the heartstrings than the film otherwise deserves. I believe that the two timelines work best in movies like Blue Valentine, where the user takes turns watching a relationship come together and fall apart. Using in this movie’s context felt like an attempt to dress up a sad story into something more.
